SAT or ACT: Choose Wisely! (26 October)

Are you confused about which test is best for you?  Should you take both or neither?  Is one test easier than the other?

This forty minute presentation will give you the knowledge to decide these and other questions for yourselves.
If you’re thinking about applying to college, you’ve probably heard that the SAT is no longer the only game in town.  Its arch-rival, the ACT, is now just as popular nationwide, and every four-year college will accept either test.   Presenter Everitt Clark will deal with specifics: brief histories of the SAT and the ACT, side-by-side comparisons of sections and individual questions from each test, and a summary of the academic qualities that each test favors.  As you will see, the SAT and the ACT are both deeply flawed, but students can learn to use the flaws to their advantage.  You will emerge from the presentation with a pretty good sense of whether you should try the SAT, the ACT, both, or neither.  A question-and-answer period will follow the lecture.

Everitt Clark has helped students in the metropolitan area prepare for the SAT and the ACT for seven years.  He graduated cum laude from Princeton University in 2004, and he graduated from H-B Woodlawn Secondary Program in Arlington, VA in 1998.  If you would like more information on him or his presentation, please visit his website: www.everittclark.com.
